Island, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Georgia which provided a variety of different types of religions. Virginia was the only other colony with an dominating religion which was The Church of England. But one of the things that made America what it is today is the religious freedom. Clearly, religion impacts modern society because these colonial regions first denomination can still be found there today. By not having to follow a religion you don't believe in, but follow in what you do believe in.
PART 2: Economics The Economy in the New England colonies is basicly the same every New England colony.
Massachusetts included crops and livestock farming, lumbering, shops, and shipping. Rhode Island Farming, lumbering, shipbuilding, fishing, whaling, trade. Connecticut did farming, shipbuilding, fishing, and whaling. The Middle colonies such as New York did Fur trapping, lumbering, shipping, slave trade, merchants, tradesman, farming, iron mining. Pennsylvania included farming, merchants and tradesman, lumbering, and shipbuilding. The economy in the southern colonies pretty much the same. Maryland economy was farming and ranching, lumbering, shipping, fishing, iron mining. The Economy of each colonies is mainly based on their region and location. If they were in a place with nice soil and long growing seasons they would be a lot of farmers. And if they were near whales they would be whalers. The differences are the location and geography the colony was. And the similarities were based off something that you can do anywhere such as lumbering, farming, and shipbuilding. These are the similarities and differences. These people in the colonies showed modern society how to do things based on your located.
Part 3:
Government There were a few types of governments settled in the colonies. The types were Royal Government which means they were ruled by the English monarch. Proprietary Government which is when the colony gets granted territory by the English King or Queen. Finally is Charter Government which was when the colony self-governed themselves. Most of the colonies were self-governed. Such as Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The similarities are they all have some type of government system to follow. The difference is some of them have to take rules from England and others have their authorities right there with them. The government in the 13 colonies influenced the government in modern society in the United States.
