New Spokesperson Analysis

“I became their favorite target in this dark world.” Many children are targets in our world and are left vulnerable. UNICEF helps these children and changes their lives drastically. UNICEF is a non-profit organization where a group of people help the most vulnerable children that are not fortunate enough to get clean water or able to access food. The former Goodwill Ambassador has just stepped down, now UNICEF needs a new spokesperson, and Gary Paulsen would be up for the job. Gary Paulsen went through many negative experiences just like those kids and it was hard for him to earn money. He would be the perfect fit for UNICEF’s new spokesperson. UNICEF needs a spokesperson who is positive and willing to help the children who are vulnerable.
“The problem was the hamburger smelled so good and I was so hungry. I decided to give the beast under the stairs half the burger”(Paulsen 145). Paulsen gave the homeless dog half of his burger when he was starving which shows how much of a caring personality he has. He was starving and smelt how good the burger was, but since he had such a caring personality he gave the dog half of his burger. UNICEF needs this caring personality for the new spokesperson because they will be taking care of children who live with a lot of obstacles. Without Gary Paulsen’s caring personality he wouldn’t care to help these kids and it is almost impossible to play the role without being caring. This clearly shows Gary Paulsen has a caring personality and would care for the children in
“They would catch me walking a dark street and surround me and with threats and blows steal what money I had earned that night”(Paulsen 144). Paulsen couldn’t find a way to stop this from happening and just had to deal with it. This is similar to the kids in UNICEF because kids in UNICEF go through hardships they can’t do anything about either. Having experiences similar to the kids in UNICEF would help to be the next spokesperson because he knows how it feels and has a desire and needs to help. There is a whole different mind set for the people who have experience for what they are helping with. Paulsen went brought many hardships similar to the kid’s hardships in UNICEF which would be very helpful if he becomes the next UNICEF
