I will never forget the moment I first laid eyes on the Metropolitan Museum. It was freshman year and I went with my mother and my brother. It was after dark and all its lights were shining on the building. The building itself looked like something straight out of a movie. The building was beautifully designed and was much larger than I was expecting it to be. As I walked into the lobby room, I already felt a sense of luxury. It’s hard to explain, but it felt like walking into a 5-star hotel. When I entered the art exhibits, there were many pieces of art that I just glanced over, but to my surprise, there was …show more content…
multiple incidents where a piece of art caught my attention and passed my expectation. Sometimes when the art was vague and it really caught my attention, I quickly pulled out my phone and opened Google. I wanted to know more and that’s how you know a piece of art is really something special.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has many outstanding exhibit, but the one that I found the most interesting is the Egyptian exhibit.
You might say that I’m a little bias since my heritage is Egyptian, but I truly enjoyed the Egyptian exhibit. I really like walking through the Temple of Dendur. The temple was on a stone like platform surrounded with water. The Temple of Dendur looks a 1000 times better during the night time. When it is after dark the whole room is pitch black besides some sculptures and the temple. This gives off a sense of mysteriousness and that feeling is like no other. Another that thing that caught my attention about the Egyptian exhibit was the intricacy of every sculpture, painting, and sarcophagus. No matter the size of the piece of art, there was such fine detail that was incredibly advanced for the time at which it was
created.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is an extraordinary place to be in. You can literally go through the entire history of human creation, from its earlies forms to today’s art. The Metropolitan Museum of Art It really is true that you can’t appreciate it until you see it with your own eyes
