NFL Rules The new rules in the National Football League are changing the way the game is being played and the way it affects the players. One of the many ways it affects the players is benefiting their health, and that’s why most of the new rules are added into the NFL. There is an average of 128 concussions per year and about nine concussions per week. There are positive ends and negative ends of the whole situation that can make the game boring for the players and also the spectators. This also makes the game safer for the players in their long-term life from their kids to their own health. The NFL could be changing for the better, or for the worse of it. First, player

One rule that has been changed this season is when a player loses his helmet, the play is immediately whistled dead. And now during the field-goal the defense cannot position any player on the line directly across from the snapper, who is considered defenseless. While NFL is actually concerned of the players health risks there are other sports who don’t do much about the health risks. UFC is an american mixed martial arts sport. UFC allows kicks to the head. Being able to kick the opponent in the head is ridiculous. A fighter on the receiving end of a knockout has been concussed. A concussion will have a negative long term effect on a person’s health, yet we so often hear of a fighter being “okay” after being knocked out. The rules of this sport should be modified immediately because lives are at risk. It shouldn't matter if the “sprite” of the game is changed, the lives of the athlete matter…

Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, and Sunday Night Football are those special nights when many fans lose their minds over how the NFL rule book is set up. The NFL has many rules that are not clear and should be revised. Almost every rule can have an argument on what is wrong with it, as well on how it should be changed to have a clear cut explanation when a play comes into question. Some of the most argued calls come from these Rules and Sections in the NFL rule book: Rule 2- Definitions - Section 2-The Ball, and Possession of the ball, Section 14- Fouls and spots of enforcement, violation, and Rule 15- Officials and instant replay.…

If the NFL truly cares about its players like they preach, then they should be taking stronger actions than they have now. The NFL should be enforcing stronger punishments and investing more money towards research of concussions and head trauma in the league. This would better the NFL and its players by making it a much safer league. In the end players want to remember their time on the field, not forget it from not being protected…

1 out of every 3 children in the United States is considered obese. That is about 25 million children in this great country of ours that are overweight. I think there are two main reasons why these 25 million children are overweight. Number one is that children aren’t eating the right foods, that is the main reason why there are a lot of obese children in the world today. The second reason is because these children aren’t getting enough exercise throughout the day which makes it even easier to become obese.…

The website I would use to host my fantasy football league would be the league on the NFL website. I would chose the NFL website because I feel like they have a better knowledge of the athletes and I think they would be the first one to know what player is playing and who’s hurt. The NFL website has notes and facts about the player if you just click on his name and it will show you what there facts are. The type of league I would pick is a football league because that is the sport that I know the most of and pay the most attention to it.…

“Pro football is like nuclear warfare. There are no winners, only survivors.” -Frank Gifford. Football is a full contact sport, so it is not supposed to be safe, and no one ever expected it to be safe. Recently the effects of countless head injuries endured by players many years ago had just started to surface. The NFL has started to attempt to make professional football as safe as they possibly can without ruining the game. The majority of the rules the NFL has in place are necessary when it comes to how the game is played and maintaining the safest environment on the football field for the players, however some of the other rules being added to the rulebook are arguably unnecessary and truthfully ridiculous. Players are more often than not…

In America sports are important but football seems to be vastly more important and more widely known as a specifically American sport. The overwhelming topic on any sports network such as ESPN and the NFL Network are the growing number of lawsuits against the National Football League concerning head injuries and lack of concern that the leaders of the NFL had about the risk players were being put in. Both sides of the lawsuits are passionate about their ideas and making sure that they are not only heard but that action will take place to resolve the situation as a whole. George Orwell states that “one can choose – not simply accept – the phrases that will best cover the meaning, and then switch around and decide what impression one’s words are likely to make on another person”. (115) The power of words can make or break an argument; the words surrounding the NFL Controversy are no different inevitable, permanent and intentionally misleading players putting them at serious health risk.…

In the midst of the debate over our national morals, a key issue I wish for budding scholars to discuss is whether coaches should punish their players for kneeling during the national anthem. In my opinion, coaches have no right to “bench” their players for exercising their free speech; a liberty on which our nation was built. While it may be seen as disrespectful among the white majority of NFL coaches, to the players who fall victim to issues of police brutality and negligence by our current administration, they are using peaceful defiance to stand up for the lives they hold close. Who are we to criticize this resistance when it will eventually go down in history as martyrous? Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, and countless other athletes are…

I am an avid football fan myself and love playing it as much I enjoy watching it. What I have come to notice recently, is how the lives of football players are drastically changed when they are off the field. Football is a full contact sport, if you’re not prepared or unprotected at any given time during a play, you could end up limping off the field nursing injuries or even leave the game on a stretcher.…
