Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, and Sunday Night Football are those special nights when many fans lose their minds over how the NFL rule book is set up. The NFL has many rules that are not clear and should be revised. Almost every rule can have an argument on what is wrong with it, as well on how it should be changed to have a clear cut explanation when a play comes into question. Some of the most argued calls come from these Rules and Sections in the NFL rule book: Rule 2- Definitions - Section 2-The Ball, and Possession of the ball, Section 14- Fouls and spots of enforcement, violation, and Rule 15- Officials and instant replay. Rule 3- Definitions - Section 2- The Ball, and Possession of the ball, has some of the most questionable calls in the NFL. Article 7 of this section is Player Possession. Player possession is one of the hardest things to judge in all of American football as well as Canadian football. These individual items are the most argued items in Rule 3- Definitions - Section 2 - The Ball, and Possession of the ball. Item 1. Player in Possession. “A player is in possession when he is inbounds and has a firm grip and control of the ball with his hands or arms.” This comes into question when actions like a fumble or muffed punt happens and every player dives onto the ball to acquire possession. Spots of Enforcement: “The Spot of the Foul: The spot at which a foul was committed or, by rule, is considered to have been committed.” Spot of the foul is the heaviest momentum destroyer to NFL offenses and defenses alike. “The Dead Ball Spot: The spot at which the ball became dead.The Succeeding Spot: The spot at which the ball will next be put in play (i.e., the spot of the ball after enforcement for a foul, or, if there has been no foul, the spot at which the ball became
