Nightmarish Style In Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis

In the Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, the style enhances the nightmarish quality of the work. On page 92, it says, “His many legs, pitifully thin compared with the size of the rest of him, waved about helplessly as he looked.” With a straightforward description of Gregor, nothing is needed to be implied that he is a grueling bug.
