Nike realized that if they could make an impression on children and get them to develop healthy habits when they’re young, it could carry over when they become adults. A child who is physically active can experience reduced stress, increased cardiovascular endurance, and have the ability to maintain a proper weight. It is much easier for a child to rather than an adult to become fit and maintain the proper weight. However if the foundation for a healthy life is built at an early age, then adults will find it much easier to achieve these goals. Nike supports all kinds of physical activity, however a large part of what Nike sells is sports-related equipment. So naturally for business reasons Nike has to promote recreational and competitive physical activity. This is where some parents may have some problems with this movement. More and more parents are getting concerned about their children playing team sports. Citing that their child doesn’t have the chance to be a “kid” when tied down to a sport or pushing a child into a sport too early can offer no real advantages. However children who play sports are forced to interact with other kids and as a result, make new friends and become more social. Also kids who play sports can learn many lessons that will last them for the rest of their life such as, hard-work, determination, and the value of teamwork. However if parents still don’t believe in the value of team sports, Nike doesn’t limit their movement to organized sports. By promoting a health and active lifestyle for their children parents can become part of the
