The boy at such a young age may fall victim to his appetite for murder. Judging from a moral view, the decision is made by the sheriff is cruel and inhumane. Some people may argue that the boy is young and does not deserve such a fate. Supporters of the kid may argue the kid still has time to change and improve his personality. At the age of fourteen, an individual’s character is not fully formed as he is still able to pass through adolescence which is the greatest modifier of personality. However, the decision sheriff made is moral and justifiable. The boy makes the decision to kill his girlfriend due to pleasure and not revenge, which is the similar case to most crimes happened. This attitude can quickly develop and become part of the boy’s final character which is a bloody murder. This statement is true as described by many acts from the two main characters in the movie. This theory is also applicable in the society of today, there certain things that we know they are wrong, but still do them just because there are no punishments exist. To do the moral thing is a choice, both the characters are aware of what needs to be done, but their personal choice to address similar interests differs. Both of them are tasked to recover the suitcase, however differently. Sheriff Bell has an obligation as the authority to get the back money, whereas Chigurh is hired to get the back money. The two people’s perceptions of the community also prove that in any society change is inevitable. This is evident throughout the whole movie at Sheriff Bell’s time has passed. At the end, Chigurh is involved in an accident. He survives the accident, wounded badly and disappears. It is referred that sometime in the future the latest generation will come to the end and their time will pass. The young boy gives his shirt to Chigurh and keeps silent from police.
