My story takes place at North High School. The story involves, me, my dad, my mom, my grandma, Norths basketball team, and my basketball team. The mood is sad, and amazing. My team against North's team is the main conflict. We are both trying to win, and we have our game faces on during the whole game. My dad was the coach of my team during this time.
Me and my friend named Tyler were the only ones who were good on that team. Tyler was gone during this game so I had to do pretty much everything. We were winning at halftime, so my dad tried to get the players in who weren't as good. North came back and was winning, so my dad put me back in. There was about 5 minutes left and we were losing by only like 2. I took
the ball and just went right past the defense and scored pretty much every time. I scored a lot in the last 5 minutes, we won by like 20. I felt like I was as good as Kobe Bryant. At the end of the game, my dad had told me that I scored more points myself than the other team.
My grandma was visiting for the first time from California, I’ve only seen her when I remember 2 times in my whole life. She watched my game on a Saturday, she was so proud of me for scoring more points than the other team. She stayed at our house for 1 week, then she flew back home to California. I only saw her 1 more time in my life, before she died with cancer. Tears were dripping down my face, I couldn’t stop crying.
