NOTES
An enterprising graduate of Kent State University has created a web site where college students from various campuses can sell and buy their class notes.

A diligent note-taker can earn hundreds of dollars through FlashNotes.com. The new site markets class-specific notes and study guides, enabling a student who misses -- for example -- Dr. Smith's Wednesday anthropology class to buy those notes from a classmate.
The average price is nearly $6.
Caleb Dumot, a senior finance major at KSU, recently sold 12 of his comprehensive study guides for a finance midterm at $10 each.
"It's a good way to make money," said Dumot, 22, of Brecksville. "I'm a pretty good student and would be taking notes anyway."
The creator of FlashNotes is Michael Matousek, 22, of Brecksville. His idea was born last year in a KSU entrepreneurship class and has won support from the Youngstown Business Incubator. An enterprising graduate of Kent State University has created a web site where college students from various campuses can sell and buy their class notes.

The purpose of our research is to figure out the various ways of acquiring a textbook for the University of Cincinnati students. We want to help students minimize the cost of textbooks by helping them compare different options. We also want to find out what are the different options of selling the book afterwards. Our goal is to help students stay cost efficient but also find out convenient and easy methods of attaining the book as well as getting rid of it afterwards. From focus group discussion and interviews, so far, we have found out that the majority of students prefers to buy them online and used, and prefers to resell them afterwards as opposed to renting or other alternatives. We plan to execute more research studies, such as an online survey, to find out more details about what more students prefer and help our classmates with making the right decision.…

Think about which style of note-taking is beneficial on your behalf. Is the method as effective as it is thought to be? Today, numerous individuals often prefer to type their notes instead of to write their notes. In contrast to most people, I prefer to write my notes. For instance, when I work in history class, I choose to be one of two students that write their notes. I find that when my computer is open, the tendency to online shop, text, or play games are higher. For me, I have proven my own case that taking notes on my computer, instead of writing them, has negatively impacted my ability to retain information and perform well on tests. I think that high school and college students should write their notes instead of type their notes.…
