I have always thought the job of a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) was exceptionally interesting, and it would be a great way to contribute to helping the lives of others. As a bedside nurse, I am very conscientious of my patients. I will carry this skill to become a excellent CRNA. As a CRNA, it is important to remain calm in stressful situations, adapt and prepare for the different challenges that may arise. During surgery, the patient’s outcome depends entirely on the anesthesia provider. This responsibility requires CRNAs to use every aspect of their anesthesia education, nursing skills, and scientific knowledge. CRNAs closely monitor the patient’s vital signs, regulate the anesthetic, assess the situations, make decisions, communicate clearly with the other members of the surgical team, and respond quickly and appropriately in an emergency.
