Nursing is a great career but somethings one might want to consider when going into nursing are education, description, and location. Nursing is a very active but pleasant job for many people. Getting a good education is a good way to start-off a career. After finding out the description and working conditions, it often makes or breaks a career for oneself. When one is considering going into nursing education is a big factor. For nursing, a person should take senior-level science, math, and English. Following high school there are two-degree programs in nursing, Bachelor of Science (BSN) and associate degree in nursing (ADN). Associate degree in nursing is a great option for nursing students; it is a two-year program. Next is Bachelor
When a patient first arrives a nurse assess the patient, then helps the doctor treat them. Registered nurses are the most common variety of nurses. Registered nurses provide direct care for patients, but their work includes a variety of duties. They help design and carry out treatment plans for patients, such as bandaging wounds, giving medication or injections. Nurses generally will monitor medical treatments to make sure they are addressing the medical issue. Patients receive their medical information from nurses. Some nurses specialize in certain areas of the medical field, such as surgery, pediatrics, critical care, psychiatric nursing, and geriatrics. (“Nursing”) The result of a nurse specializing in a specific field, they often are placed in a certain facility. Nurses work in places such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, prisons, and schools. Working as a nurse is a very active and very emotionally demanding job. A full-time nurse works between thirty-five to forty-five hours a week often in twelve hour shifts; this can be physically demanding and tiring. Nurses do not work regular schedules because they often go to different hospitals or clinics. Another result in irregular schedules is an employer may call in nurses often.
