It is very well known in this 21st century that technologies play a very significant role in our everyday life. World is now in the palm of our hand regardless of our location. We can communicate with our friends, family and others very easily by our hand held devices. Nursing profession is a part of modern advance technology. In my undergraduate nursing study, I have heard about nursing informatics and used to believe that nursing informatics is a kind of computer system and software that nurses use in their everyday practice. But after reviewed this week study, my understanding have changed a lot. Now I believe that nursing informatics is very important and play a significant role in modern health care delivery system. To learn and competent about nursing informatics is essential for a nurse regardless of his or her area of specialty. The more we advance in nursing education, the more we need to competent about nursing informatics. Being we are in master level of nursing program, I believe that this nursing informatics class is very important and will play a significant role in our future education. McGonigle et al.(2014) describe nursing informatics, “is the synthesis of nursing science, information science, computer science, and cognitive science for the purpose of managing and enhancing health care data, information, knowledge, and wisdom to improve patient care and the nursing
