Wynne, however does not. Each move she makes around food must be carefully planned. Restaurants and menus are carefully chosen around the short list of foods Wynn can easily digest. Even when she does plan there is no guarantee that her symptoms won’t act up. There is always the anxiety provoking thought in the back of her head, “what if." She goes on to say that most people would only have to look at her restrictive diet and become depressed. Not Wynn though. She will stick to her restrictive diet any day over the times she is forced to maintain a clear liquid diet due to a Crohn’s flare-up. The days she is able to eat solid foods and not receive nourishment through tubes are days she cherishes. Most days, Wynn will simply turn down an invitation out so she can stay in the comfort of her house. Her medications, medical supplies and bathroom are all within reach there, and she doesn’t have to worry about a “what if” scenario (Wynne,…

Failing to report any negligence is a violation and can harm a patient and the facility. Mecklenburg Health and Rehabilitation Center must provide each resident a notice of rights, rules, services and charges as well as installing better fire alarm system which can be heard through entire facility according to the policies. Success is improving patient satisfaction which requires both organizational and tactical…

The resident should be dressed, well groomed, and clean at all times and allowed to have express options, in particular, food, sleeping and waking times.(Paxton, n.d.) Additionally, many older adults eat certain meals for their health and energy and others may only eat once a day and need someone to look after times they eat and what they eat. Many older adults often get less sleep than they need. One reason is that they often have more trouble falling asleep. Reason for that is they often don’t go into deep sleep and wake up throughout the night, which explains why they nap more in the daytime. A study of adults over 65 found that 13 percent of men and 36 percent of women take more than 30 minutes to fall asleep. (“Aging Care”)…

Nothing is set in stone and much freedom is allowed throughout the care giving process. This “freedom” is a very good thing for the patient and care giver, allowing them both time to get things done that they need to and not stress about their day. One of the best things about this “freedom” throughout the patient’s day is that visiting hours are unlimited for friends and family due to the fact that the patient is in their own home. Most Health Care facilities don’t have this advantage, they have a time frame for visiting hours. Also some Health Care facilities only allow family to visit the patient and the process can be complicated. The biggest thing about Health Care facilities that keep patients for Care is that (depending on the rules and what type of facility they are in) they can be permitted to keep patients on the premises until discharged and not allow them to leave. For example, a local Hospital called “Onslow Memorial Hospital”, “Visitors are encouraged to visit during the hospital visitation hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.” (Visitor information page). Onslow Memorial Hospital also says “The quiet hour is from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. An overhead announcement will commence the quiet hour. We ask visitors to allow this time for patients to rest” (Visitor information page). At Onslow Memorial Hospital family is allowed to visit 24 hours,…
