Obama State Of Union Speech Reflection
“ The Future we want ? Will only happen if we fix our politics…” During the State of Union speech Obama spoke on many of these topics such as raising minimum wage, expanding civil rights, ensuring prosperity and insurance for generation to come.This was a really good speech and very persuasive. While the speech was happening many notes were taken and i witnessed how almost half of the political part was clapping ( the democrats) and the other half ( the republicans) did not fully agree with Obama. In Obama's speech he says that his goal was to have a growing economy that works well in favor for everyone. That the role of the government should be to make sure that the system is not rigged by the wealthy individuals like monopolies. This part grabbed my attention since all we talk a lot about the monopolies in world history. …show more content…

Immigrants make up America every one is an immigrant besides the Native americans in my eyes.The Natives were here first so therefore it is there tland. Obama disagreed with trying to divide immigrants not allowing them to come into America, Immigrants have been coming to america to fulfill their dreams. I am an immigrant who came here when i was five so that i could have a better life. Why on earth would America try to prevent anyone from having the American dream. Allowing refugees into America would be almost idiotic. We do not know what the refuges intentions are and trusting them would not be the best decisions. Obama's speech truly moved me and his plans for curing cancer, which in my opinion has already been discovered. All of these words said in Obama's speech will hopefully start taking action. “ I stand confident that the state of union is strong” says Obama. If Obama is confident then we should be too, right ? I don't think

    Firstly President Obama explained in his State of the Union Address that we, as a country, must make strides "on behalf of the many, not the few" by "putting the nation's interest before party." I understand the tone beneath it all, but the "few" he speaks of are government officials and the rich. I understand working for the greater good. I understand Democracy, but I don't agree with casting off the other few being the poor. I think Obama needs to change up the way he words such things like this. In a time when distrust of our politicians is at a high and stupid decisions being made in congress; this was not the right time to make such a statement.
