Objectives of an Online Library System
Abstract
This project will be based on an Online Library System that will be developed and implemented at Intel College. The system will be designed to help students and teachers at Intel College identify a book that they want and borrow the book online. The Library Administration will then get the book and organise for the student or teacher to come and collect the book at a suitable time.
The system will be a web based application that can be accessed from anywhere as it is online. It will have a login module which will require a username and password that can be acquired online. The system will enable the users to search for a book they would like to borrow and book it through the online library system.
The different modules that will exist in the developed system will be a login module where users can login to the system, a registration module where users will be able to register all there information, a search module to enable the users to search for a particular book, a module that will enable the administration of the library to add new books to the system, update the books available and remove the books that are no longer in the library.
Chapter 1 will be looking at the introduction of this project and what the back ground to the selection of this project is. It will also be looking at the objectives of the project and what limitations the study will face as well as the cost and resource implication to the system.
Chapter 2 will be specifically looking at the Literature review which looks at previous Library systems that have been implemented in other universities and colleges in the world.
Chapter 3 is the design and methodologies; this will be looking at the design of the system and all the tools and techniques that will be used in developing in the system and the different methodologies that will help in the developing and implementation process.
