Individuals get obsessed with technology because of necessity, to improve lifestyle, to get a better life, to have a simple and easy life. This kind of mania exists because people can afford some luxuries like technology, they think only of comfort, fun, and entertainment; they sometimes don’t even think about money. These results may be the increase of hackers, replacing human brains, less labor (less work), pollution, and damage to the natural habitat. According to Susan Greenfield, “We’re facing an issue that’s as important and unprecedented as climate change,” (qtd. in Dr. Anthony). Some bad results in personal life are, for instance, not having a social life, to be afraid of meeting new individuals, lack of self-confidence, and to depend on technologies. However, an analyst said in an article that there is a chance to tolerate an individual’s intuitive feeling that sometimes they require nourishment, a moment absent from the gadget, and rest. (Dr. Anthony).
In addition, we don’t have just negative results of people’s obsession with technology. There are some good effects that are important too, like to have a comfortable life, to communicate, to have a better organized life, to change life constantly, to have a better access to learning, and better production in factories. It’s good to add that it helps in having a better equipment in hospitals.
To sum up, individuals obsession with technology has reasons and consequences. The results sometimes may be positives or negatives; but it’s an evolution. In my opinion, we should have balance to control this
