Altruism is an act that promotes the unselfish welfare of others, such as caring, dedication, equality, and impartiality. Evolution is nature of human being as well as earth and importantly investing our energy with other people and showering compassion towards humans and even animals can lead to the road of happiness. There are several ways to incorporate with altruistic behavior, being generous to client sharing act of kindness, being friendly greeting warmly so that each other can have a sense of connection with one another. The most significant aspect of Altruism is a volunteering which fosters highest level of pleasure in any aspect of life because it strengthens a relationship to commit time or shared activity together. Doing so it advances the career with the new skill, and helped me to establish mental and physical health. It also expands the network, with people with whom I share the common interest. Diversity is important in any field and it crucial because it creates opportunities to evaluate quality care of patients. Diversity in therapy includes all of the following; gender, race, culture, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, education status, national origin and physical characteristics. Involvement with the patient can be improved their health such as communication which will encourage healthcare providers to join gap between the different culture in medicine. For example, if you have a therapist who understands their patient’s culture, environment, food, customs and religious views points they can provide patient with fundamental cares that are necessary for patient treatment. Managing patient care and practicing cultural competency or cultural awareness and sensitivity can allow the healthcare provider to understand, appreciate and work with individuals from another culture and understand other than their own. Social competences are beautiful aspect of the medical field, especially in Occupational therapy.
I can bring up the exclusive cultures and background while focusing on some of the challenges and stresses of the refugee experience. Since refugee kids are disturbed by forced to leave their country so bringing up those psychological stress and traumatic experiences to the field and how one to deal with them, I can help OT department by helping client on effect of trauma on school functioning, harassment, community resources, and engaging and empowering families because being new to the new world there lots of challenges with language gap many students were not able to express them and some may arrived unprepared to participate in school which will caused anxiety, depression, grief, fear, anger and isolation so that caused many in risk of mental disorder with my experience I can help those kid or individual with some sense of connection and ultimate
