In the novella, Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck Lennie and Curley's wife are two characters who are oppressed by their loved ones and society due to the way of how they act. Lennie’s social interactions with others, except with George, are very limited because he is mentally retarded making it hard for him to socialize. Just like Lennie, Curley’s wife has very little interaction with others, because she is know to be flirtatious, making others on the ranch uncomfortable and Curley angry.
