Offensive Player Research Paper

It’s game seven of the NBA Finals down comes Curry early in the shot clock he pulls up and shoots a three and drains it. Next possession Derrick Rose comes down does a couple dribble moves and blows past his defender and throws down a knee breaking dunk. Final seconds of the game down comes Rajon Rondo his defender sags off so he drives and finds a wide open Kevin Durant in the corner for a game winning shot. That is how you would see the three different types of offensive players play. The Shooter, the slasher and the passer all have a different play style and different focuses on offense. Which leads me to my first offensive play style the shooter. The first type of offensive player are the shooters. This would be athletes like Stephen
Andre Iguodala, Kobe Bryant, and Derrick Rose are all slashers. Slashers like to cut to the rim and get dunks or layups. They like to use the pick and roll. Watching videos on players like this will be a lot of dunks and breaking ankles. These players are usually the ones you look for late in the shot clock cutting to the basket. Players like this are pretty even in scoring and passing cause as they cut to the basket the defense collapse making teammates open.
The third type of offensive players are the passers. Rajon Rondo, Ricky Rubio, and Isiah Thomas are all pass first athletes. These players look for teammates early in the shot clock to get assist. They usually have more than seven assist per game and don't have many shot attempts at the end of the night. Players like this look more for wins then stats they will do whatever it takes to get there team another tick in the win column.
Think about how boring the finals would be if every player played the exact same way. That's why it is great that there are three different types of players.
