Determination means having made a firm decision and being resolved not to change it. I’m described as a determined person. In order to achieve the things I want, I need to be committed to it. I like to achieve the goals that I set up and accomplishing them no matter what anyone says.
For example, I wanted to go to Miami and I was determined to do so. I did everything that I could to go to Miami. I babysat to earn money and I helped out my uncle in his business for a small amount of time. It took about a year to get a sufficient amount of money to go and I did manage to go there; it was really fun. Even though there were a few people saying that I won’t be able to pay

They were around a week old and I had no clue had to take care of them. I started to read articles of how to take care of kittens; I learned an immense amount of information of taking care of them and feeding them. I thought that I wasn’t going to be able to take care of them and to some point I thought one of them was going to die because he didn’t want to eat and he was weak. I was intent on helping him recover and making him stronger. It took about a month or two for him to recuperate. I didn’t want to give up on him because I believed he could recover. The two little brothers grew up to be two healthy cats and now they are a year old.
In conclusion, determination is a good characteristic trait to have. It helps me accomplish exactly what I want to do. It helps me to succeed and achieve the goals I set up. Determination helps me do the things I’m set to do no matter what anyone says. It’s a great quality to have because no one can put me down, it just helps me to believe in myself even more. In assessing a leader, their use of determination can help prove if they are average or superior. Determination is firmness in purpose and having a fixed intention. Individuals who are determined are motivated and can get things done under any circumstance; being able to do that is crucial to being an effective leader. You must have the strong will to “want” to accomplish whatever goal you set for yourself. For example, when I was playing the game of chicken and always lost in the beginning, this would be the obstacle that stood in front of me, but I overcame this by not saving any strokes to get back. I remember a time when I was saying, “You want to know how I did it? This is how I did it, Anton: I never saved anything for the swim back.” Another example of how I overcame my obstacles is obvious. My biggest obstacle that I faced was when the company Gattaca only allowed “pure breeds,” if you will, to be co-workers and be able to go up to space, which was my dream. I surpassed that rule by impersonating my good friend Jerome. A quote he said to me once was, “I got the better end of the deal. I only lent you my body - you lent me your dream.” Jerome was immobilized from waist down when he was hit by the bus, which let me impersonate him and fulfilling my dreams of going to space. All my hard work is finally paying off. My big goal that I have been longing to achieve is in sight. Not many people get to live my dream, but it took a lot of planning and thought for me to sneak my way into Gattaca. My next point will be my final thought about human…

It’s easy to make a goal rather than to achieve it. However, with determination one can succeed in accomplishing it. I have accomplished one of many goals in my list and that's to attend college. In my family not a lot attended college or even finished high school, so accomplishing this goal is a big subject of matter to my family.Getting this far is even a big accomplishment in my eye’s, especially when you break free from an assembly line of generations that never had attended college. The feeling is still overwhelming, mainly because I’m the first of many generations in my family to accomplish something big like…
