Online friendship is not something rare nowadays. It can be happening anytime and anywhere to all ages since we can meet people from worldwide. The issue of building cyber friends has aroused people’s interest especially teenagers are like to make friends online. For middle ages and old people, cyber must be a way for them to keep in touch with the family. It could be a blessing or something dangerous, but still it all brings to experiences. Different cultures and customs can be provided by making cyber friends. Nowadays people are able to access to many worldwide website, such as emails, Twitter, and Facebook. They can chat with people from afar and learn their distinctive civilization and thereby have a better and deeper understanding at our changing world. Just like Facebook, it’s extremely easy to meet new people due to fact that it allows you to add up to thousands of friends and act as a of social melting point of the internet. For another, building friendship in the virtual world frees us from embarrassment and awkwardness when we release personal emotions and share secrets with others. Between showing off your favourite song lyrics, to posting pictures of your new outfit, there are so many ways to be when it comes to expressing. We talk to online friends who are not our acquaintance in the real life. Therefore, it is easier for us to let our anger or complaints from work of study, which is fairly conducive to mental health in this stressful age. Despite from all the blessings, cyber friendship can bring harm to our lives too. There are so many effects that can bring to negativity. Such as cyber-bullying, ruined relationships, distraction, insecurity and also stalker friendly. Just like Facebook, it’s affecting friendship in society today because people use it too much, have too many “friends”, and do not put as much effort in to their “real life” friends.
