Democratic states can influence in an important way when solving global problems. On the other hand, non-democratic states can contribute as well. This essay will argue the existence of other factors on whether a state can solve a global problem regime being democratic or not. The ones able to solve global problems are developed countries, who either have a fairly-advanced democracy or a stable politics regard-less the political regime. We must admit that nations with a progressive political ideology are most often countries with democracy thus being the ones able to solve global problems.

According to Chomsky (2010), globalization is international integration, however it now stand in the way of (specially)developed countries in solving global problems. The World Trade Organization (WTO) identi-fy the globalization as necessary, through consumerism, hence a united world with no barriers and there-fore, making consumerism a prioritization. Globalization is the results of a world where Adam Smith (2002), argues that “the society itself grows to be what is properly a commercial society.”
This creates a clash with global problems for instance the environmental issue. Despite of civil-disobedience in form of popular movement as COP21 being held in 2015 or previous cops held around the world, no action towards change is being taken due to the risk of falling behind
