Failure in Young Soccer Players
Many people would say that when it comes to learning, failure is a necissary tool. However, this is not true when it comes to children of the ages 5-8 playing soccer. When you're older, you under failure, so we can accept it and understand how it is can be needed. Children that young haven't yet fully developed the concept of failure. They are trying knew things, deciding what they life to do and they need encouragement to help them through that. When you're first learing to play soccer, encouragement is needed to keep up the drive of young kids going because they are still learning and improving.

When starting out at something new, noone no matter who, is going to know what to do and how to do it perfectly their first time out. Failure, especially within the first couple of times, is bound to occour. This doesn't mean that quiting is the automatic next step. The next step is to keep trying until it's you get the hang of it. This step however, isn't going to happen if there is someone telling you that you failed. You need someone there to encourage you. This is the age where travel teams start. When it comes to travel teams, there are always going to be cuts because there is only allowed to be a certain number of players on a teams roster. The fact that there are cuts out you in a position where, if you get cut you will have to deal with failure. As you continue on to highschool or college soccer, failure becomes more neccessary. This is because, one, you are playing at a high leel of soccer that requires a certain amount of skill level. Also, if you at this point you fail at soccer by not making the team, this tells you that you should focus your attention somewhere else. Lets also remember that now that you are older, you have experenced more thing and now understand the need for failure. You know that you will have to deal with failure throughout your whole life. However, as a young child ages 5-8, you are still learn this concept which is why encouragment is the teaching tool. This tool will help them learn many other life lessions that will help them in the future when they might have to deal with
