As a senior sister and clinical mentor I will ensure that all nurses are taught in an environment that is conducive for learning and consideration will be given to individual abilities. My experience as a mentor in different hospitals in London gave me the opportunity to appreciate the diversities in learning styles. This, I am sure will be of great benefit to your hospital both at an academic and clinical level.…

This will be a collaborative effort with specialist nurses who will guide the students in a tutorial system. There is coherence between the methodologies and CU’s objectives seen as the methodologies are directed to the objectives of the psychomotor scope, which emphasize the manipulation, articulation and non-verbal communication without disregard for the cognitive scope, as these target the development of the knowledge and understanding necessary to plan, execute and evaluate nursing care.…
Becoming a nurse was a dream that became reality for me in October 2012. I had passed the LPN-NCLEX. I was eager and full of hope, looking toward the beginning of a new career for which I had been preparing. The challenge, which alarms me, is the transition phase where I am not yet an RN, but I am held to that standard. My aim is to practice being an assertive communicator as well as foster interaction with co-workers, administrators and…
Earning the certification of a critical care registered nurse (CCRN), is my short-term professional goal. “The stated mission of the AACN Certification Corporation is to provide "comprehensive credentialing for nurses to ensure their practice is consistent with established standards of excellence in caring for acute and critically ill patients and their families." (Briggs, Brown, Kesten & Heath, 2006, para.) I am a critical care nurse in an ICU and have experience with cardiac patients. A CCRN will enhance my knowledge base and assist me to hone my skills.…

This program is a mixture of classroom academics and more clinical hours. The classroom curriculum puts an emphasis on physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and other areas relative to anesthesia, and the clinical hours provide training with the different types of anesthesia for every surgery there is (“Questions”). To succeed in a specialty program one must be extremely dedicated and optimistic. Passing the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) is the last step to becoming a nurse anesthetist (“Nurse”). By state law and regulations, nurse anesthetists are qualified to practice in every state of the nation (“Questions”). Although a nurse anesthetist has completed all of his or her schooling, he or she must still keep up with his or her techniques by going to CE…

Before I graduate I would like to have a internship or job in the medical field After graduation I plan to extend my knowledge as a CNA by attending Childersburg Community College. After I attain my Associate Degree in Nursing, I will then transfer to Auburn University and enter their BSN program.…
The patient was restless and gasping for air. The registered nurses quickly responded to the emergency by calling for an emergent intubation. Immediately after calling for assistance, a male wearing a surgical cap and a badge that read CRNA showed up. Though I was amazed by the entire experience, The Certified Nurse Anesthetist truly captured my attention. The encounter was intriguing to watch, as he took control of the chaotic situation and demonstrated passion, autonomy and knowledge. For example, he asked pertinent questions regarding the patients’ electrolytes and history demonstrating a strong foundation in his practice. After watching the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), I was eager to learn more about Nurse Anesthetist as a profession. I spent countless of time researching what it takes to become a successful CRNA. While still in nursing school, I strived to obtain a strong academic foundation. Though my overall GPA is 3.3, I was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau Nursing International Honor Society. Following nursing school graduation, I was still hungry to learn more about the profession. I began working in an 32-bed ICU in a rural area. I was fascinated with the amount of critical thinking skills required to care for ill patients. Less than a year, I was thirsting for more challenges. I relocated to UT Southwesten Medical Center. A biomedical Institution.. At this…
Hello everyone, My name is John Santiesteban and I’m currently a nurse. I am attending this class in order for me to achieve my masters in nursing. My enthusiasm for nursing first took root and flourished after losing my father. My father became very ill and needed medical care. When I saw that my father was starting to become weak and frail, I thought to myself "What access would my father have to good quality health care?" I asked my mother "Where is the nearest hospital?" and my mother replied, "It's about twenty miles away child." It was from that moment on I began to realize a desire to engage in a profession that focused on the area of helping sick people. After losing my father I made the initiative to start a new direction in my life to pursue a career in healthcare. So I decided to become a surgical tech to test my interest. After completing my certification, I was able to do a lot of hands-on work with sick…
