Operation Eiche was ordered by Hitler to rescue the Italian dictator Mussolini during the World War -II who was voted out of power. It was carried out by German paratroopers led by Major Otto Harald Mors and the Waffen SS Commandos. On 12th September, 1943 Otto Skorzeny (chosen specially by Hitler) tracked Mussolini to Campo Imperatore Hotel, Italy. He launched a high glider mission, which surprised Mussolini’s captors. Thus, they were able to overpower them easily without firing a single bullet and rescue Mussolini.
