Personally, I feel my family and I have supported this catholic social principle. Last year, I volunteered at the food bank where I organized foods, making sure they were in the right shape, condition, easy access, and healthy for people who might have allergies to certain foods. Even though I did not have a personal connection where I meet the homeless or people who are starving, it did open my eyes to how close people need such simple necessities that I never even think of not having. People are literally right around the corner who need food, and can go days with no food because they do not have access to it. A time my family has shown support for the poor and vulnerable is one time while they were in New York City. My Father, my sister, and my brother all went up to see a hockey game at Madison Square Garden. Before the game they went to get food at a steak house. The option of the poor and Vulnerable is a very critical issue that’s needs to be addressed. Many people in the United States and across the world do not have a house to stay in or food to nutritionist themselves. Steps I want to take to grow in this principle is defiantly serve more. I want to be more open to what is going on in our world and how I can help. I want to volunteer at a soup kitchen, and I always hear of all these stories of people who stop by in all different cities and sit and talk to homeless people on the street.
