LETRATURE REVIEW:
Global Virtual Teams
In traditional organization, it has been seen that number of groups are working to attain their assigned goal for the organization development. Now most of the organizations modified their working style and transform their setup in global virtual teams to compete global market and reducing cost of production. They alter traditional organization teams and groups in to virtual teams. Mostly virtual organizations build teams for business, marketing, and consulting purpose.
Mostly writer define virtual teams in same context such as Virtual teams are those teams who cannot interact each other face to face and geographically they are located at long distance (Wayne F.Cascio). Liz lee Kelley defines it as, it’s all about to control characteristics of people and teams that are disperse location wise. It can be conceptualized in this way that a group of people who work together by using resources such as communication tool to complete a successful project.
Many organization established GVTs, it pays them valuable profit in term of organization setup cost (as they do not need to plant a factory for production), time saving (Travelling cost from remote location, healthy environment), increase production and ultimately customer satisfy by receiving their delivery order on time. For marketing point of view it becomes easy to introduce and provides their services globally besides this it saves different resources which we normally use in traditional organizations. There are some disadvantages of these teams and because of these disadvantages it lead to conflicts (Wayne F. Cascio)
Building team is not issue but required great effort and concentration as Robin says
