Orphan Train Book Report
Life has its donwfalls, but those downfalls happen for a reason. Orphan Train by Christina Baker Cline is a book mainly about Vivians downfalls. This book changed my view of the world becuase it taught me about hope, and taught me about being grateful.
This book taught me about hope because despite Vivian’s struggles throughout the book, she had pride, and something good came out of the bad events. For example, Vivian went through being enslaved, being sexually assaulted, and being neglected for the younger years in her life. But after all those unfortunate events she found the love of her life, Dutchy. This shows that bad events happen so the good events can eventually happen. Now, when something bad happens to myself, I feel hope afterwards,

This book has a very good theme but was not written to entertain the mind of a high school teen. The theme of friendship and the theme of telling the truth instead of hiding from it can help you overcome problems with your friend helped me out in life personally. I saw how what someone can see as white lie can produce even worse problems than the problems that would occur for telling the truth. I have been in situations where I could easily get out of a dilemma by lying but it was exceptionally wrong to do so. I thought this story was boring because besides Finny’s death, Finny falling out of the tree, and the “trials” on Gene there wasn’t much action. The writing of Knowles taught me to always do what is right no matter the consequence for it, because there may be greater consequences for not telling the truth.…

From its use of symbolism to the life lesson. Jeannette Walls told her story in a unique way and it made me feel different emotion. After reading about what Jeannette and her siblings had to go through, made me think about my life. Personally, it made me grateful for having a family that provides me a shelter and treats me well. Of course, we all have ups and downs, but it just so hard to believe what she went through. And how she manages to stay strong and positive, when others can easily give up. I highly recommend this book to everyone, as if it can change your perspective on…

I enjoyed this book thoroughly and always kept me intrigued until the end. It had small twists in it that were rather easy to interpret but it was also very interesting. I don’t particularly relate to this book, although situations that I’ve endured have changed my perspective on life, in a positive aspect, and made me unprejudiced and versatile and not so…

As I said before that the others wanted to give a message throughout the entire book to explain to people that we are all one of a kind and never try to be like someone else because there is only one of them and one of you. No one can do better than the next person because we all have something different to offer and we only improve ourselves more when we are just ourselves. Basically no one is like the other so why try to be better at what someone does better when all they’re doing is being their own being. Fear is also mentioned in this book and they tackle this throughout the book as well saying that fear is seen as a negative feature of people, but should really be used as an “engine starter.” That is mostly why this book inspires me not just entertains me.…
