The "Glass Castle" is a page-turner that should catch any reader’s attention. It is a book that would make you feel upset and angry. It shows an unconventional childhood and how that had made her stronger and successful woman in the future. A sad story with a happy ending. Jeannette Walls had a dysfunctional family and her childhood is hard to believe. The book begins with her being in a taxi, and while she’s in the taxi she sees her homeless mother. Jennette is a successful woman living in New York and feels guilty living the life she lives since her parents are outside “rooting happily through the dumpster.” Jennette inquires her mother saying “what am I supposed to tell people about my parents?” and it ends “just tell the truth. After reading about what Jeannette and her siblings had to go through, made me think about my life. Personally, it made me grateful for having a family that provides me a shelter and treats me well. Of course, we all have ups and downs, but it just so hard to believe what she went through. And how she manages to stay strong and positive, when others can easily give up. I highly recommend this book to everyone, as if it can change your perspective on
