Our Bones Research Paper
Who would we be if our body did not consist of bones? A big blob? A thin figure? Bones are very vital to our body. It is what builds us up. Bones all together makes our skeleton. It is very important that we know about and take care of our bodies. Our bones give us our distinct body shape along with supporting and protecting our organs and systems. The bones that make up our skeletons are all very much alive, growing and changing all the time like other parts of our body. Even though our bones are alive and growing, our bones can be very fragile and that is why we must take care of our bodies. Bones can be fractured, but fortunately they can be fixed and must go through a healing process. A process in which the body will empower the repair …show more content…
This stage is pretty much a security stage, it tells the body that something is very wrong. The reactive stage is used to start blood clots. The purpose of blood clots in this stage is to form wherever the bone fracture is. The blood clot forms a bridge that makes a gap between two ends of a broken bone. The second stage in bone healing is called the repair stage. Repair stage is the stage of repairing. There are special bone cells that benefit to form a callus. The callus is a hardened part of skin that acts as a healing tissue due to a fracture of a bone. It helps to span a fracture. It used for strength during the healing of a bone fracture. The last and final stage is remodeling. Remodeling is very timely. Remodeling can range from a couple of months to a few years. The purpose of the remodeling stage is to give the body time to heal. It allows for the bones to resculpt into their original shape, size and mass before the fracture. However long it takes for a bone to resculpt itself, the bone is will be again in a great condition. In our skeleton, there are two parts: axial and appendicular. The appendicular and axial parts of the skeleton are necessary in forming the structure of our bodies.
