Outcome Four Reflection
Outcome Four Reflection All four outcomes work together to improve and set standards for writing an essay. Outcome Four aims for us to practice composing as a recursive, collaborative process and to develop flexible strategies for revising throughout the composition process. To achieve this we must use revisioning techniques, re-edit with the feedback received and refine all composition choices to make sure they fit with the essay. This is by far the easiest outcome to meet because of the amount of help given by peers and instructors. After finishing my essays, it was clear that none of the essays were absolutely perfect. As I went back to edit Major Paper 1, Major Paper 2, Short Assignment 1.2 and Short Assignment 2.1 I realized that I had to re-edit many of them because they did not meet the outcomes. Before revising Major Paper 1 none of the sub-claims connected to the claim, but after revising them they all connected with it. An example to prove this is“The accessibility of the internet has allowed humans to learn …show more content…
One of the common comments I received was to avoid asking questions because it left the audience to answer it. I changed this by answering the question myself to make the answer effective. I went from stating why grades existed as a question to stating why they should not. By not leaving the question up for interpretation I get my own opinion across to the audience thereby making my argument clear. Another comment of feedback that I received quite often was specifying what this/that was. By not being specific I leave the audience confused on what I am discussing. The purpose of an essay is to not leave the audience confused, so by editing I made it clear to the audience what I was trying to say. Outcome Four tells us that we have to incorporate feedback into our revised essay which I have by incorporating the feedback into all four

Bonny Doon Vineyards, a successful winery business based in Santa Cruz, California, has grown from selling 5,000 cases of wine a year in 1981 to 200,000 cases a year in 1999. To keep growing and be more profitable, the business must choose amongst three possible strategic directions. The first strategy is to start importing wines from Europe into the United States. The second alternative is branching into a retail outlet for unusual wines of great value, accompanied by a high level of service. Lastly, the business’ D.E.W.N could be expanded to include wines not made by the company itself but by other wineries that follow the same values and philosophy.…

Remember that your critique should be coherent, so you do not necessarily have to treat the assessment component and response component as separate sections in the body of your essay. You may also enhance your essay’s coherence by clearly identifying your topic of discussion, sequencing your topics of discussion in a logical order, and using transitional phrases and sentences to connect your ideas—especially as you move from one paragraph to another.…

The following interactions were derived from the writer’s therapy session with JO on 06/29/17. With the first exchange, the writer attempted to build rapport, and find out if JO had participated in therapy before, and, if so, what about therapy had worked for her. This appeared to be successful, because JO subsequently shared what she liked about certain therapists and what she did not like about others. The writer asked this question to build rapport and find out what had worked for JO in the past, so he could attempt to emulate it. The second exchange highlights the writer implementing reflection, empathy, and paraphrasing.…

“When students complete a first draft, they consider the job of writing done”. Generally this is what all students wish to happen. People wish they could just get things done the first time around. Unfortunately in the draft process readers have to proofread and modify their content for improvement and perfection. Leading to not just one but possibly many drafts written in order to meet perfection and/or satisfaction. In The Maker’s Eye by Donald Murray, he stresses the importance of revising your own essays. I agree with his reasoning because of criticism, audiences, and voice.…

On April 22, 2017, five classmates and I took part volunteering at the 9Health Fair. Before showing up we all were e-mailed instructions on the Health fair protocols for taking blood pressure (BP), performing Body Mass index (BMI) and pulse oximetry (02 sat). When arriving we all kind of gravitated to a station. I ended up working with Allie and Karen in the BP/02 sat Station. When the fair began, it seemed that we were pretty slow, so I volunteered to stand by the blood draw station informing patients where our BP/O2 Sat stations was located. While working the line trying to get customers to our station, I heard a thump. One of the people who had their blood drawn, stood up and then fell straight back to the ground. I watch as this…

In the first paragraph I wanted to reword a couple of sentences, mainly because they didn’t make much sense. Also in a few other areas I made corrections either in grammar or by editing in and out information. I felt the information I took out wasn’t necessary to the particular part of information. When I added information it was to make my point more clear.…
