Overwhelm's Jerseys
These essays were all very interesting and engaging for the audience. The first essay, the evaluations of jerseys, was appealing because he gave a good introduction and gave pictures of his top jerseys. The criteria for the jerseys was clear, concise, and easy to evaluate. At the author also gave good reasoning for his evaluations of his jerseys in his explanations. The idea of choosing a few of his favorites from each team helped to not overwhelm readers with a huge abundance of jerseys to remember, but giving the list at the end with the rankings of all of his jerseys was a nice touch. I like the order of the rankings, but I think the alphabetical list is unnecessary. The second essay, focused on the evaluations of evaluations, was very amusing. The author was keeping his mood light and happy. Throughout the essay, it was clear their intention. The criteria and methodology seemed fitting for the evaluation. Their choice of ideas to evaluate were evidently important to the author, which is important. Some of the ideas may seem a bit odd, but to me they give the readers more insight into who the author is. The author’s reasoning behind his choice is clear and easy to understand. The ironic idea for the essay and the way the author writes …show more content…
The idea was fine, but it is hard for readers to make their own opinions. The first two essays were easy for readers to either agree or disagree with the author. This essay on gummy bears is hard for readers to understand where the author is coming from because they cannot taste all of the gummy bears themselves, which is understand. The essay was well written and gives a lot of detail, but there is still a sense of uncertainty to the readers. While it does provide a bit of trust for the author, the readers aren’t as engaged because they cannot form their own opinion. Other than that fact, the essay was well designed. Criteria and methodology was understandable to relevant to the

I think my strongest essay is Rhetorical analysis essay about Tobias Wolff’s “Bullet in the brain.” I spent so much time on the assignment and introduction is good. I think the introduction is one of important part of the essay. Because the introduction grab reader’s attention and make them to read more. I had to follow the instruction given by the professor. I stated my specific topic and I wrote about one topic in my whole assignment. I read the book over and over again, and I analyzed the book from a certain point of view like a book critic. My work was well organized into paragraphs. Each paragraph focused of a single part. Also, I used transitions to help my assignment flow more smoothly.…

3rd segment--evaluate the effectiveness of the essay. Use formal tone, so do not use "I" or "in my opinion." a. The strengths of 2A are that the writer use very strong, concise language to get their point across. They included quotes and even outside knowledge that contributed to the argument. There are very few weaknesses in this essay. In 2B, the language and vocabulary are not as strong as in 2A. However this essay is still adequate and covers the topics needing to be covered, but not as well as 2A. The author of 2B also discusses football players and partiers in a very stereotypical way, which is just as bad as stereotyping nerds, and I don’t think Fridman intended the readers to think like that. In 2C the writer seems to be rushed and there are many spelling and grammar mistakes. The paragraphs do not seem to flow together and there are many run on sentences. The writer did make good points in their essay but, there were too many mistakes that overruled the good.…

In my first essay, I wrote a rhetorical analysis The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This essay was created to interpret that the American Dream can never truly be achieved no matter what you may have or do. While writing this essay I choose this novel because not only have I read the piece, but I found it interesting enough to analysis especially when it came to the American Dream concept. While writing this piece I took a risk and wrote on a whole novel instead of a smaller piece which would have been a greater opinion. The reason I choose this was not only because I loved the book, but I wanted to see how I would have done analysis this novel and testing my writing skills. In this essay, I took on the challenge and while I believed…

The author's attitude is very sarcastic through the entire essay. Also it seems that he is being very pessimistic. He zooms in on all the evil and hatred in the world and doesn't focus on all the caring, giving and kind people throughout the world. He does have many excellent points about the way people are and a great deal of it is really true but I think that he went just slightly too far. Overall though the essay does have a high-quality base idea but I think that the examples used only represent a small percentage of the overall population.…

I would give the sample essay "Mustache It" a B-. The title grabbed my attention, however while I read the essay, I felt like as the reader, I wasn't really engaging with the writer. The essay, in many ways, is similar to what I have read in the past. Nonetheless, the writer did a great job by providing a strong thesis and backing it up with examples. Something I'd recommend for the writer in the future is to add a bit of personality in the essay. I've learned that grabbing the attention of readers is key to have what we write be remembered by many.…

I struggle with Rhetorical Analysis essays, but this particular paper seemed to puzzle me more than the other rhetorical analysis essays that I have come across this year. The score I received was an 8, and I was honestly quite surprised to see that. I knew I had written a paper to pass, but to show that I had sufficiently written the paper shocked me. This essay was tough in particular because the rhetorical strategies were very difficult to locate. I noticed that Richard Rodriguez wrote using a lot of compare and contrast, so I based my essay off of that. With that idea, I elaborated the technique in great detail, and that may have accounted for the high score that I received. The paper was very well structured, but it was very one-sided in my opinion. The main reason I was unsure about a high score was due to a lack of inclusion of other rhetorical strategies. I knew that the paper was well written, but I was not necessarily sure how well I was going to do. While reading sample essays released from Collegeboard , I did notice that they were looking for something to do with compare and contrast, and I believe that is why I scored to high on the paper. I did not know that compare and contrast was a rhetorical technique, but it is good to take your idea, and let your thoughts flow. That is how you create very strong writing.…

I greatly enjoyed this essay. I thought that her descriptive writing placed a detailed imagine in my head and I could see every scene that she described about her journey in life. I thought that her enthusiasm for embracing her life and her colored skin was inspiring. To be able to take what some may think as a disadvantage in life, and turn it into a benefit is a great way to live in the world.
