Pablo's Comida Alternate Ending
Chapter 1: Pablo's Comida

Derrick threw his backpack over his shoulder and looked at his room for the last time. It wasn’t a nice room, it was small and cramped, and there were unremovable stains on every wall. The ceiling was a sickly white, his closet smelled like sweat, and his desk was slightly broken. Frankly, it was a horrible room, but that did not stop Derrick from feeling a deep attachment to it. His lips trembled slightly at the thought of never seeing it again. This was the room he grew up in, the room he lost his virginity, the room where he and his brother had many discussions about school and life. This was the room which made him the man he was today.

Suddenly, a large sturdy hand placed itself on his shoulder. Derrick turned

She dragged him to the back of the restaurant.

“Go ahead.” She said.

“Go ahead with what?” Derrick asked, still confused.

“Oh come on!” She exclaimed, “I saw you looking before. Don’t you want to see more?”

“Oh…” Derrick realised what was happening, “Yes.”

She guided his hand and placed it on top of her breast. It felt soft and like fabric, though that was probably just the waitress uniform she had on.

Derrick noticed the unimpressed look on her face as he stood like a statue.

“Come on, Derrick.” He thought to himself, “You’re not a damn virgin. Take control! Be a man!”

He changed his expression to that of one filled with confidence.

He looked directly in her eyes and smirked slightly.

She smiled at him, becoming more satisfied in his performance.

He slowly began unbuttoning her shirt, and went through all the standard procedure. Start with the mouth, from the neck all the way down to the thighs, then use tongue and a finger until she’s ready for

Derrick wakes up. The hangover clings to his skull, his heart, which seems like it's barely working this morning as he rolls off of Tim’s couch and searches wildly around the living room for that glass of water he could have sworn he filled, set beside his sleeping place for when he woke up. This common, quick sense, even when he’s shitfaced, kicks in sometimes and he almost feels good about himself. But if he doesn't quench that demanding thirst now his tongue could dry up. Maybe his eyes too. Everything on the face is connected. He learned that in high school when he had an earache that gave him migraines for a month. What would you rather, he thinks now as the ache in…

The steam from his drink coated his glasses, and behind the mug I could see a toothless smile and a dark shiny grey beard. He gestured for my dad and I to come in. I stepped my way up into the overcrowded room full of mustard yellow couches. Not only did the place looked run down, and about to fall apart but, the place smelled like the worst mixture of rotten foods you could imagine. My dad and I’s facial expressions to each other said it all about this place. Once we had found our way, we filled out some application forms. During the process, I stood beside my dad, searching to find another girl taking the class. I looked forever only to find that there were no other girls…

All that nervous energy that bounced in him, slammed his heart into his chest, kicked him in his stomach and fried his nerves was all gone and he felt incredibly hollow. Now his face itched from being held in a certain position and his lungs fluttered when they finally expanded. His ribcage was gone and his heart was reluctantly easing itself back to it’s normal pace. He stretched his fingers before him and considered, that maybe, maybe he was overreacting over a crush, but it was L of all people, so he stewed in it. He continued on alone, but didn't feel like walking, so he sat down before one of the films that allowed the survivors to tell their stories during the Holocaust. He half listened half pitter-pattered on his phone until someone sat close to him, he scooted over. Then he felt a very small tap on his arm. He looked up and found a faceless young woman holding this baby, this gorgeous, fat, wide eyed baby. Dark eyes, soft dark skin, and smooth curly hair. The baby gave him a gummy smile and tapped on his shoulder…

I never expected it to be like this. So desolate and hopelessly alone. The stinging smell of bleach and the metallic taste in my mouth leaves my mind numb. I glance to the clock, and I am pained to see that only two minutes have passed since I last checked. He should be here by now, but I am not surprised that he isn’t, punctuality has never been one of his strong suits, although I had hoped he would understand the importance of this moment. Frank was a good man, I didn’t doubt that, but he did have his own way of dealing with…
