2.The Portrait of Pakal The Great is adorned with headwear and has a smooth complexion. He possess a pronounced nose, large ears and slim face. It is cracked at the neck and left cheek area. Mouth is small but lips are thick. Overall, the facial features are very proportionate to each other. The only part I am confused about is the color of the portrait which is either grey or brown but I will just assume it is grey since time takes it toll and historical objects usually become dulled as time time goes on.
3.The visual elements used the Portrait of Pakal The Great are form, line, and color. The form used in this art piece is allows for Pakal to be granted definition throughout his facial features and used to emphasize various part such as his nose and ears to make him recognizable and more distinguished. Pakal, the Great was known as K'inich Janaab' Pakal and is noted for having the longest reign in the western hemisphere. More specifically, he ruled over the Mayan city-state known as Palenque as an ajaw or lord. He is known for extending the influence of his empire and fostering an environment which would bring about the epitome of his people’s culture through architecture and art pieces.
