Pakistan Elections
Whilst the tenure of a democratically elected government comes to an end, political parties in Pakistan are gearing up for elections. Almost all significant parties have ruled the country one way or the other during the past five years. Perhaps, Elections 2013 are going to take place at the most critical time in the history of country. On the verge of selling their story to the public, the anti-status quo parties will have to produce a revolutionary and out of the box solutions to people’s problems, or to befool the masses yet once more.

The energetic and aggressive media in its present capacity remains a major factor to influence minds. Still there is a big question mark on whether media can play their role positively and constructively. At the moment, media is the only institution which has the power to make or break the future of the country.
Now when elections are just around the corner, any possible equation hinting at the postponement of elections is out of questions. Several attempts have been made and number of rumors has been floating but recent developments suggest that any such effort to derail the electoral system will not be supported by establishment.
It is believed that three major factors will decide the outcome of the upcoming elections. First and foremost is an international issue, i.e. withdrawal of US and ISAF troops from Afghanistan. Three major parties (PPP, PML (N) and PTI) are on a serious quest of convincing US officials that their leadership will be the right choice to handle Afghan borders when US withdraws their troops. Two other factors will be internal but international community is keeping a close eye on it, namely economy and energy crisis.

These elections will be dominated by these issues and any party who can provide solution for these problems can ultimately dominate the election results. This is slightly an idealistic statement; given the electoral process in Pakistan has its own dynamics. Yet these issues will affect

Almost a quarter century has been passed since the death of Gen. Zia, the ruthless military dictator occurred in a plane crash near Bahawalpur, a town in the southern part of Pakistan’s Punjab province. Today, apparently no mainstream political party in Pakistan owns (at least publically) him. However, the question arises here that does this fact make this notorious character irrelevant in the social and political life of Pakistan? The answer is not only plain ‘no’ with an additional note that the presence and impact of Gen. Zia in every sphere of life in Pakistan has become much more stronger and prevalent now as compare to the era when he was alive and everything was tightly under the control of his unlawful regime.…

The maturity of the political system in Britain has gradually shaped the British community. Britain at present is considered to be a Liberal Democratic state and one main component is the capacity of the government to conduct an election to allow the people to voice their needs in the national level. Election is the heart or the core of a democratic state , removing this would deprive the people of their right. After five years or if the Parliament was dissolved by the Queen with of course the Prime Minister's advise, there will be an election using the "First-past-the-post" electoral system. Here the candidates can win seats in the Parliament by plurality of votes that the candidate received in his or her district. But then this form of electoral system attracted number of critics regarding the biases it constituted in the government. According to critics, only the large political parties (Conservative and the Labour Party) benefit in this scenario; those with equally strong support in different districts, gain more seats rather than those who concentrated on one area alone and; the small parties suffered the consequences of having weak and widespread support. British election has been the founding element that will contour the parties' policies and motives.…

and the answer is no and let me justify what i am saying. AS i wrote in the last column that never underestimate the power of a single but what if one is saying about a group or a political party, the statement goes wrong. The cureent leadership of PTI is with IMRAN KHAN following by some great leaders as Javed Hasmi and Shah mehmood Qureshi. but what about other political personalities; let me explain it by example. Khajwa Muhmmad Khan Hoti was elected by the people of mardan under the umbrella of ANP and then he resigned from the seat due to the clashes on ministries and joined PTI but when IMRAN KHAN denied him to take part in election 2013 in other words he didn't got party ticket for election 2013 from PTI, he moved to PML-N and there he got the ticket. i can't understand that is the decision was correct or not was this decision was in favour of PTI ir not. but many of such corrupt personalities has joined PTI and got tickets for election 2013.…
