Palestinians (Present day problem)
About a month ago, 3 Israeli teenage boys were kidnapped and murdered in the Gaza strip, which is controlled by Hamas. Israel blames all Palestinians. The Israeli mind is that if you hit them one time, they would hit us back two times. So in revenge, Israel attacked the West Bank although the reason they gave is that Palestinians did not follow a ceasefire which was agreed on in 2012 by kidnapping the teenagers. Using the incident as excuse, Israel has been bombing and attacking Palestinians in West Bank and Gaza strip. As of today, around 2000 Palestinians has been killed including civilians, women and children. Meanwhile, Israel’s losses have only been 50 soldiers. Clearly, Israel is the aggressor.

Arguments for Palestinians
1. Although Hamas does not represent all of Palestinians, it is the elected government of Palestinians. Israel should respect the government of other democratic countries. Israel does not like Hamas but it is none of their business because Palestine is sovereign state.
2. Palestinians want peace but Israel wants to destroy not only Hamas but all Palestinians. (CNN News reported many civilians killed including women and children from Israel’s attack.)
3. Israel claims rocket was fired from West Bank after only 7 hours of cease fire instead of 12 hours. (Hamas does not accept that they fired the rocket. It is n5ot sure who did it, but maybe it can be also Israel soldier going to West Bank and firing because Israel does not want peace talk.)
4. If Israel does not like Hamas, but right now it is Hamas that control the government, so Israel must talk to government of Palestinians. Actually, Israel wants to support Fatah group in discussing peace talks, but they must also deal with Hamas because they are also Palestinians and in the government.
5. Although there is competition between Hamas and Fatah. Israel should not interfere with problem within Palestinians but maybe should support any effort

Israelis and Palestinians conflict will continue indefinitely until they forgive each other in order to move forward in peace. The primary approach to solving the conflict today is a "two-state solution" that would establish Palestine as an independent state in Gaza and most of the West Bank, leaving the rest of the land to Israel. Though the two-state plan is clear in theory, the two sides are still deeply divided over how to make it work in practice. The alternative to a two-state solution is a "one-state solution," wherein all of the land becomes either one big Israel or one big Palestine. Most observers think this would cause more problems than it would solve, but this outcome is becoming more likely over time for political and demographic reasons.…

Israel and Gaza have been disputing for a long time over land . After WW2, the Jewish people wanted their own land, which was once Palestine. Other countries like Israel did not like this and so they decided to go to war to gain control. This caused many in Gaza to flee to Israel, where they now remain. After Israel left this area, the Hamas gained power, and they are now fighting for the…

There are two solutions to the problem, the one-state solution and the two-state solution. The one-state solution would combine Israel, the Gaza strip and the West Bank into one country. There are two sides to this solution. One of them is favored by some Palestinians, creating a single democratic country where Arab Muslims would outnumber Jews. This would essentially end Israel as a Jewish state as the identity would be washed out with the Palestinian Arab population. The other side is favored by some Israelis. This involves Israel taking control of the West Bank and forcing out the Palestinians or taking away their right to vote. However, this has been rejected by many, including Zionists, the extremist Jewish group, as it is a human rights violation. The two-state solution is exactly what it sounds like, a separate Israel and separate Palestine. This would satisfy both the Israelis and Palestinians as both countries run separately. This two-state solution “has been the goal of the international community for decades, dating back to the 1947 UN Partition Plan, and many nations say that it is the only way out of the conflict,” according to Oren Liebermann, Angela Dewan, and Lauren Said-Moorhouse of CNN. However, the inability of Israelis and Palestinians to decide on terms of a two-state solution poses interest in a one-state solution, partially since if the two sides…

Palestine, or is it Israel? Either way, it is a highly contested land between two major Semitic groups: the Arabs, and the Hebrews. From the late 19th century, and throughout the 20th century it has been the focal point of Arab nationalism and Jewish Zionism. Today, it has become the Jewish state of Israel with occupied Palestinian Territories called the West Bank, which lies on the West side of the Jordan River, and the Gaza Strip, which borders Israel and Egypt. But, should the Palestinians deserve a state of their own? This essay will investigate the Palestinian side of the argument, their Biblical and Quranic ties to the land, the State of Palestine should have been created under Jordanian Egyptian as well as Israeli occupation of the land, and finally Israel’s poor relations with Palestine and colonial occupation of the land has led to the formation of many radical groups.…

When you contextualize the issue, it’s evident that the Palestinians do have some validity to their grievances. One issue at hand is that the land Israel now occupies was once considered Palestine. The two civilizations used to coexist. It wasn’t until the mass influx of Jewish people following World War II when the battles over the region truly began. Following WWII, the Jewish Israeli settlers were given part of Palestine as a result of the persecutions to the people. It was done so by the United Nations on May 14th, 1948 in the following declaration. “By virtue of our national and intrinsic right and the strength of the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, we hereby declare the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine, which shall be known as the State of Israel” (Siegel). It was a reasonable solution--a two-state territory.…

Type your response here: When Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas announced that he would seek recognition from the United Nations for a Palestinian state, Israel complained that Abbas should have pursued that objective in face-to-face peace negotiations and warned of grave consequences, threatening to expand settlements or even to "cancel" the peace process altogether. Now that the General Assembly has upgraded the Palestinians' status — from "observer entity" to "nonmember state" — the Israelis are proceeding in a dangerous and self-defeating way.…

All of us want to be able to live in our own homes in safety, to sleep at night without fear. The Israeli and the Palestinian conflict is really only about people fighting for a home to live in. The Jews lived in the Holy Land in the Ancient times, so Jewish Israelis saw it as a home they once owned. However, when most of the Jewish people were kicked out of the Holy Land long ago, they never lived comfortably and safely anywhere else. Finally in the 20th century, they returned and created a new nation of themselves, new hope and pride. But the same land was home to the Palestinians, whose Arab ancestors migrated there in the 7th century. The Arabs saw an increasing number of Jews coming to what they saw as their land—buying up property and becoming more organized—a serious threat that made them feel increasingly dispossessed. Many Jews preferred to ignore the signs, until riots broke out in 1921 and 1929. They attacked Jewish neighborhoods. I would take side of the Israelis.…

To further conflict, Israel constructed the Israeli West Bank barrier, separating Israeli territory from Palestinian territory. The Israeli West Bank barrier has been internationally condemned as a ruthless tactic to simply keep families apart. This is the captivity that news outlets such as Cable News Network, Fox News, and CBS News choose not to report on. After spending almost half of a year in Palestine (over a few summer breaks), I myself have experienced the deprivation and heartbreak that the Palestinians experience daily; my motivation to express the captivity Palestinians endure stems solely from my personal observations while traveling through the holy land during the summer after the eighth grade. The elongated list of conflicts instantaneously symbolizes that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will most likely linger on the foreseeable future, but I am here to elucidate the hidden captivity that the Palestinian community experiences…

Within this conflict, there is three main parties responsible. In recent times, Fatah had the majority of seats within the Palestinian parliament. However in the 2006 election, the party lost the majority of its seats to Hamas. Because of this, Palestine split with Hamas in control of the Gaza Strip and Fatah in control of the West Bank. The split was not without violence, and still there is violence between the groups impacting on the children of…
