The parents thought more about themselves than the well-being of the girls. Each child suffers emotionally because of the custody arrangement. How could a parent be willing to give up a child to an ex-spouse and agree to never see or attempt to contact the child in the future, how the parents could make that kind of arrangement and never think how the kids will feel. As a parent, would you really be satisfied knowing you have another child all the way across the world who knows nothing about you. The twins do not have a family life, so they manipulate the parents reengaging their parents love until reconciliation and bring the family back together. This instance reveals the reaction of “children of divorce” toward divorce.
In conclusion, the main conflict in the movie was not only the divorce of the parents, but the effect on the identical twins. In reality, children of divorced parents miss family life, dream of parents’ reconciliation, miss the other parent’s love and want to be raised by both of their parents.
