Intro: In this assignment, you will write a research paper based on your own original research. This will be a process of many steps and there will be guidance along the way.
Purpose: The main purpose of this assignment is to develop an argument or thesis. To write an effective paper, you must always keep in mind your overall thesis. This thesis must be specific, but answerable. In other words, you are going to make a claim about a specific topic and support and prove your claim with factual evidence. You may want to phrase your thesis in the form of a question initially.
Format: 2 to 3 pages, typed, double spaced, 1 inch margins on all sides, 12 point Times New Roman font.. Need at least 4 sources, one of which must be books. In-text citations should be included and information needs to be cited by sentence [ex. (Author page #)].
Ex. In 1963, the number of houses built in Philadelphia increased by 30% (Jones 425).
Project Timeline: Each step MUST be approved before moving to the next step. All steps will be accepted one day late for HALF CREDIT. Two days late will earn no credit but still must be approved. Since the due dates are stated beforehand, no “late notes” will be accepted for any of the steps to the project.
