    “The Secret Lion” by Alberto Alvaro Ros is a short story about two preteens who are growing up and moving into junior high school. Two major conflicts explored in the story that resonated with me were the loss of innocence that comes with growing up, and how children are often overlooked and silenced by authority figures.
