Paris Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet
William Shakespeare's Romeo and juliet, is a tale about two star crossed lovers whose love is obstructed by another suitor, named Paris, as well as Juliet’s parents. Romeo and Juliet were forbidden to marry because the Capulets and Montagues were family rivals. Paris and Romeo have many similarities that caused both the deaths of juliet and the two young men. Romeo and Paris both have strong personalities and overwhelming confidence this creates conflict between the two. In the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo falls deeply in love with juliet and wants to marry her instantly. At the beginning of the play Paris asks for Lord Capulet permission for marriage (page 778). When the Montagues crashed the Capulet party, Romeo saw Juliet dance across the floor and came up to her being very flirtatious making Romeo seem very confident that he can woo her (page 786). Paris shows him being over confident when he runs into Juliet when she goes for help from Friar Lawrence (846). Paris starts to tell Juliet how, “and my wife!... ‘may be’ must be, love, on Thursday.” Basically saying he can’t wait to love her as his wife and he can not wait till thursday.
In conclusion, Romeo and paris are similar in various amounts of ways. All these similarities caused the death of Juliet, Paris, and Romeo. Disregard the point that this whole tail happened in the span of four days and that Romeo and Juliet just fell in love on the first day. Now if Romeo were to follow his gut and would not have went to the party he would probably still be chasing after Rosaline, Juliet would have been married to Paris, and lives would be spared.
