You and the division chief have just come from the CEO’s office, where you were informed thatthe guest complaintsrelated to housekeeping and employee attitude are increasing. Your on‐site managers have mentioned some tension among workers, but have not considered it unusual. The CEOand your division chiefinstruct you to investigate. Suggest atleast three differenttypes ofresearch that might be appropriate to the situation.
Since on‐sitemanagers are not aware ofthe situation going on I would do an externalsurvey on guests aboutservice and accommodation. 8. Describe howyou would operationalize variablesfor experimentaltesting in the following research question:What are the performance differences between 10 microcomputers connected in a local‐ area network (LAN) and one minicomputer with 10 terminals?
I would initially try to define the variablesthatI need tomanipulate in order getresult. My result comes in the formofspeed/performance. I willtake two applicationsthat will need extensive intercommunicating resources and calculation. Then I will use each application in two different environmentsmentioned. Then I willrecord the speed each action takesto complete
Following the given scenario I would operationalize the variables by developing a method to measure the delay from each of the 10 computers to the LAN and then from each of the 10 terminals to the minicomputer. The delay could be developed to measure the elapsed time from a request on the computer or terminal until a response is received from either the LAN or the minicomputer. There are many software applications available that provide this

Net present value (NPV) method is used to decide whether or not a company should take on a new project or acquisition. The formula for NPV is the difference between the present value of a project’s cash inflows and its cash outflows. To calculate the present values the future cash flows are discounted using the time value of money method. For the project to be accepted the NPV should be positive, because it means the return is greater than the required rate of return; or zero, because that means the return is equal to the required rate of return. However, if negative the project should be rejected, because its return is less than the required rate of return. This required rate of return is also referred to as the cost of capital.…

Five doctor offices have decided to join each of their buildings to a network. With this, each office will have access to each of the other four offices’ information. This would greatly benefit them and their patients, allowing them to pull up a patient’s medical and billing information from a central server for easy access. However the central, east and west offices are each on their own LAN. The three LANs are similar in design for connecting each workstation and for hardware and software. The eastern and western offices have already been in a partnership with their own peer-to-peer with remote access network along with shared billing and insurance management software. The north and south locations are running standalone workstations that are various ages. Each office has no kind of network compatible hardware and runs the billing and insurance software on one dedicated computer, each with its own attached printer. Patient information is stored on several computers throughout the offices and patient records are filed manually on paper.…

There are many non-believers that are discouraged by its local churches. Many members of a church act one way when inside of the church building and another as soon as they walk out of the door. For a non-believer, this is just confirmation that they do not want any part of a religion that is hypocritical. Also, many leaders of the church live a lavish lifestyle while citizens of its community struggles to provide food for their families. Why would I want to join an organization that takes my money every week so that they can drive nice cars and live in big houses while I can’t even pay my rent? These are common circumstances that we see and as Christians, it’s our job to eliminate this type of view of our faith.…

I firmly believe that habitual offender laws do not target the right individuals for incarceration nor are they a proper deterrent to committing any further crimes. The question of the “right individual” can boil down to the type and scope of the crime committed (misdemeanor or felony). Because of the use of the “3 strikes you’re out” law in many states individuals are being sentenced and incarcerated for longer prison terms simply because it was their third offense. There is no proportionality within our justice system, for example in California an individual can be convicted of two violent crimes and then serve a life sentence if convicted of any other crime (third strike). Even though the U.S. Supreme court held a 5-4 majority that such sentences did not violate the Eight Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (cruel and unusual punishment) I believe this to be wrong and a form of unusual punishment for the habitual shop lifter who after being convicted of a third offense (now a felony) will now go to prison for life.…

For performance organization to be efficient, it must be based on a vertical organizational structure for the strategy formulation and decision-making to be accomplished by the top executives. This is then passed down the vertical hierarchical chain to be taken care of by lower workers within the organization or company. Due to this type of structure, all the control of the information that is used to complete any and all necessary tasks in order to obtain the goals of the organization sits with the upper management. The vertical or “top-down” management procedures are drastically different from the procedures followed within the horizontal management option. Both rely highly on information sharing within the organization however, the means in which the information is shared is very different between the two.…

The Blackstone group, founded in New York, is one of the largest private equity firms in the world with offices in USA, UK, Germany, France and India. The Blackstone model of investment operation is to invest out of a singel global equity fund so all its investments around the world tap into the same capital pools. One of the most attractive industries to invest for the Blackstone is theme parks and there are a number of reasons for that. The first is that such type of service business generates significant cash flow, second, there is a potential growth for attendance in Europe and additionally there is a weak competition for Blackstone among the investment firms doing roll-ups in Europe. The European fragmented theme park industry was the candidate #1 for consolidation and growth.…
