Paschal Mystery
Name: Lauren Gie S. Tampus Teacher: Ms. Marie Jo Osorio

‘Reflection’

Paschal Mystery is referring to a journey. Also a journey of life to death and to life again. We too have our own journey. Its main subject is the passion, death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through the Ascension and Exaltation of Christ, humanity has been given the unbreakable promise of everlasting life with God. It may be one filled with trials and sufferings, ups and downs, joys and problems. Suffering is necessary part of life.
During in sharing in our CL time, some of my classmates some stories about Resurrection of Jesus. Not all the time when someone is resurrected, they saw heaven and hell. One of my classmate told that in her/his story that heaven is so boring. Not like in hell, because in hell all the likes of a man is there. Then after that, the man in the story started to do bad things. Therefore, not all the time when we are resurrected Jesus is with us. Maybe demon is with us. They tempted other people to do bad things.
One of the most common sources of suffering among human beings is rejection. Rejection hits to cure our humanity. We cannot avoid rejection because we don’t have the right to control the feelings of others. They may reject us without any reason. Like my friend before in my elementary days. She really hates me. And I don’t even know why. She just say that she wants a war. But still I don’t hate her. I know her attitude. Jesus commanded us to love those who rejected us.
Paschal mystery is also the “redemptive death” and glorious Resurrection of the Messiah.
Jesus’ dying on the Cross is the ultimate sign of the love of God for us.
We cannot fully know Jesus is until we know how He was

The first example of rejection is where Elie thought to himself “ I watched it all happening without moving. I kept silent” (Pg.54) when his father was getting beaten by Idek, Elie isolated himself and didn’t do anything about his father’s pain in order to survive himself. This makes Elie feel shocked at first and then remorseful for not standing up for his father knowing he’d be killed. More than anything, Elie wanted to help his father and survive, however given his age and limited skills he couldn’t help for fear of death. A furthered explanation of rejection is when the young Pipel struggled while he was hung and meanwhile the crowd just stood there and watched. The people in the crowd nothing, they couldn’t for if they did they would be shot. Therefore, they did nothing in order to maximize their ability to survive. This shows the crowd being robotic like because they could be next and it was an everyday occurrence, nothing new, no-shock…

The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus are at the crux of Christianity. In hind sight what seemed like foolishness to some on lookers has become the wisdom of God triumphing over evil by the death of His Christ Jesus on the cross. Like the stanza of a well known verse, Christ cried out, “God, my God, why have You forsaken me?” This cry from the cross on the day of His crucifixion was not a cry of defeat, on the contrary; it was a cry of victory in the ears of those familiar with the blessed twenty second Psalm written by His very namesake David the king, the priest, the psalmist. Victory…

Some may argue that the greatest love story to date is Romeo and Juliet: the love; the passion; the unlikely pair. Although Romeo and Juliet may be a great tale of two unlikely lovers, it could never compare to Our Christian Story. However, throughout these two renowned stories, elements of love and sacrifice can be demonstrated frequently. Out of love, we are able to make sacrifices for those whom which we hold dear to our hearts; when humanity betrayed God by consuming fruit from the forbidden tree, He displayed an unconditional love by sending His only son, Jesus Christ, to absolve us from sin. This represents a vital bond of love that has, over time, remained between God and humanity, but to experience this bliss we must freely embrace…

Jesus Christ is the perfect example of charity. In His mortal ministry, He always went about doing good, teaching the gospel and showing tender compassion for the poor, afflicted, and distressed. His crowning expression of charity was His infinite love and compassion for others. He said, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13). This was the greatest act of long-suffering, kindness, and selflessness that will ever be known. The Savior wants all people to receive His love and to share it with others. He declared to His disciples: "A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another" (John 13:34-35). In relationships with family members and others, followers of Christ look to the Savior as their example and strive to love as He loves, with unfailing compassion, patience, and…

The feelings associated with rejection can lead people to feel as if they possess no value. Whereas a self inflicted kind of isolation still hurts, but is not comparable to the pain of rejection, as shown by the monster in the novel, “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley. Through observing the monsters one sided relationship with the Delacey family, the monsters unrequited love for Victor Frankenstein, as well as the instances in which Victor isolates himself, the reader comes to understand that being exiled through rejection affects people in a different way than self imposed exile. As such, being exiled through rejection is a more painful experience than self imposed exile because the sufferer feels as if they possess no value.…

All throughout Scripture there is proof that demons exist. They are spoken about in the Old Testament and the New Testament. Many of Jesus’ miracles are casting out demons in people. Demons are fallen angels who followed the leadership of Satan. Demons are personal, spiritual and powerful beings. They do the work of Satan, promote rebellion against God, oppress mankind, and attack Christians. Believers will face spiritual warfare from enemies of the flesh, world and the devil. Dickason gives several ways that Satan and his demons directly attack believers. The possibility of attack should not be ignored or taken lightly. Believers do not need to fear Satan and his demons. God is sovereign. He has defeated Satan and will cast him into the…
