Female Athletes- Swimming
Sport is within females is increasing gradually as a result women now participating in a wide variety of sports and competing against other females around the world. Back in the 19th century women were discouraged and was not acknowledged . Females that participate in sport can be beneficial in many ways such as physiological, psychological and social benefits.
Swimming is not as popular as walking which is 17%. According to female athletes the Australian Bureau Of Statistics (ABS) 10% of women take part in swimming and is the third most popular having walking and fitness/aerobics just ahead.
The number of women participating in organized swimming is increasing gradually, this can evident the increase of female athlete swimmers in the Olympic compared to the males. The gender gap is continuously decreasing.
Children & Young Athletes- Soccer
Exercise and playing is an important part of young children’s physical, mental and social development. These young athletes obtain the many benefits from participating in physical activity these include enjoyment, social interaction, improved motor and communication skill, greater aerobic fitness, improved coordination and many more. The chosen sport is soccer as it is the most popular amongst the younger generation both male and female but according to the ABS 20% (277,800) of boys prefer soccer where as the girls, 20% (262800) preferred swimming.
The rate of playing soccer is about 13%, around 304,000 children take part in outdoor soccer. Most of the children that take up swimming are usually after
