their husbands, some even lost their sons. Now families grieve in this dark moment, for their lives shall not ever be the same. A thousand men were also fatally injured, most approach dawn with dread, fearing that they will never see the sun again, or that they will not live to hear the birds chirp at their window sill. This fear is instilled in their eyes, and we, as their compatriots, must avenge them. We must stand now to prevent any further attacks from Japan. We must stand now to show that we are not a nation that can be defeated so easily. It is our duty to show the world that we will not allow any nation to mess with our own. It is time to demonstrate what we are capable of, so that you may leave your children in this country without worrying if they will ever have to hear the deafening roar of bombs as they crash down upon our soil. Japan has not only posed as a threat to us, but to other countries as well, such as China. In 1931, Japan invaded Manchuria, a province in China, in hopes of gaining more land for their ever growing population-yet they thought not of those who lived in the territory. They swiftly captured cities of China such as Shanghai and eventually captured the whole of Manchuria. Japan has strong soldiers and we must not take their presence lightly. If we were to retreat, they would surely come again with the intent of murdering us all. We must also defend those countries who are yet not strong enough to defend themselves. Our country is to be the model nation of the world, and as such, we must detain the countries who bully its weaker neighbors. We are now carrying out multiple of our plans to defend our nation. Security is being enforced, and the sky is being patrolled. Our military is made up of the bravest and most courageous Americans. The ones who dare not hesitate to risk their lives for the protection of you and your own. They willingly leave their families to defend those of others even though they know not of them. Together, we will not allow any other unjust attacks in which we are not ready to fight. Yet, we must all unite at this time of crisis, we must pray for those valiant enough to leave their kin to save those of others, for they are the nation’s true heroes. Let our fight resound in history, let it be a lesson to the world that we will not falter at the time of war. For we are ready, our drums are sounding, our trumpets are blaring, and soon our cries of victory will be heard by all. It is time for us to go to war; together as a family.
There is no guarantee that all will return, but fear not, for your life would have been of value.
Your lives would be a part of our prayers each night, thanking God for bestowing us with such courageous fighters. If you do return, you shall have our utmost respect, for it is due to you that we are able to retain peace in our nation. However, I can guarantee all of you, that remaining idle is not one of our options, for in so doing we are surrendering ourselves to the enemy. In so doing we will allow them to take away our freedom , and, consequently; our lives. For under their remorseless hands we will suffer, we will be enslaved and forced to do their labor. It is the future in which our future generations would have to live through, without hope of ever living a content life. In such a life, the days will darken, the sun will cease to shine and there would exist no warmth for them to embrace. Their lives will become duties instead of pleasures, they will not have the same joys as we do. Allow not Japan to invade
us.
It is time for us to stand and avenge the deaths of ours. It is time for us to fight against those who will willingly murder our population for no just reason. These are the enemies your parents taught you to fear with your bedtime stories, yet it is time for us to go against them. Time for us to show the world that we are fearless. May the world continue to see what we Americans are made of; gallantry.
The facts have been laid and the clock strikes ever nearer to war, it is your turn now to decide whether you will defend your nation, or remain idle as it is vanquished.
