IS KEEPING ANIMALS IN ZOO GOOD OR BAD?
For many people, the zoo is a source of childhood amazement and fond memories: swinging monkeys and growling tigers and a lot more. It had became parts of our childhood lives 1. Facts: Believe or not * Did you know… that zoos have been around since 3500 B.C.? In 2009, archeologists found what is believed to be the world’s oldest zoo in Egypt. * It has been estimated by WAZA that over 600 million people visit zoos each year * It is estimated (by us) that there are more than 2,800 zoos & aquariums in the world. * The oldest running zoo in the world is Vienna Zoo in Schonbrunn which dates from 1752.
Conservationists say zoos advance their educational and preservationist efforts, but others see zoos as prisons where innocent creatures are unjustly held captive.

By bringing people and animals together, zoos educate the public and foster an appreciation of the animals. This exposure and education motivates people to protect the animals.
Not having zoos would make people care less about animals, not more. Little children going to the zoo is a wonderful thing. If you meet someone and like them, you won't just ignore issues about them. If a little child, or even fully grown adult, visits a zoo, they'll see an animal that they really like. And when they read an article about that species being endangered or losing its habitat, they won't want to sit there and not do a thing about it. They won't ignore it. * Zoos save endangered species by bringing them into a safe environment, where they are protected from poachers, habitat loss, starvation and predators. * Zoos are a tradition, and a visit to a zoo is a wholesome, family
