Personal Essay: Migration To Ontario
It may be odd for someone who isn't even 18 yet to want to move to the other side of the country to go to university, but it's something I've been passionately persuading my parents into for years now. I want to move east for a few reasons. As an only child of divorced parents, independence is something I know well, and it's something I deeply consider a strong value. The ability to exist when no one else is helping you along is a trait I believe is understated. I've always known that I have to go east. Ontario has always pulled me in, the political culture, the strong patriotic connection to being the province of the nations capital, even the extreme weather provides a view into the whirling climate that attracts me to the city. Perhaps I'm
romanticizing it a bit, as I've never had a chance to go, but I'm fairly sure I'll love the East, it is Canada, after all, and I love Canada.
