Personal Narrative
That night gave a memory that would stick into any average 12 year old’s mind. It was the most terrifying experience I have been through to this date, and it happened about 6 years ago. Essentially what happened was that a stranger broke into my house while I was still inside, and unfortunately I remember most everything that had happened. So it was around 2:30, and I was just arriving home from school. The day was normal as of that point. I did the regular thing a
12 year old would do right after getting home. I would go over to the kitchen and look at the fridge because my parents who are always gone when I get home leave a note of chores, and when they were going to be home. This time the note said vacuum, clean the restrooms, and take out the trash; easy stuff. However it did not say when they were going to be home, so I was a little panicky; probably because I didn't have a cell phone at the time. That was the first time something went wrong in this perfectly normal day. But being a smart 12 year old, I went over to the neighbors to use their phone. Luckily my parents answered and they told me that they were not going to be home until the next day because they had to go to the hospital to see a friend in need. Ok no big deal so im home alone for a night, I should be fine; I am smart and I can take care of myself. So I went home and took out the trash because that was my last chore. Then I went into my room, which was called the “cave” because once I went in; I never came out except for to eat and use the restroom. A few hours passed and i was hungry, I figured since it was 7:30
I should go make me dinner. I walked out to the kitchen and passed by the back door, it was wide open. I could’ve swore I shut it but maybe not, so I closed it again and proceeded to make my dinner (mac n’ cheese). While I was eating I kept hearing some weird shuffling noises in my back door.
