After living in Germany and moving back to Texas, I made the decision to get a job. I have always wanted to work in a Child care center on the post. In other words, the military base. After applying several times, I finally got the call; I was chosen for an interview and to my surprise I got hired. The emotions inside me couldn’t be expressed. Hearing the words “you are hired” made me feel as if I had accomplished a big part of my goal. The process went well, I did the finger prints, filled out many papers and got a physical done. In less than a month I was ready to start.
My first day of training went well. I was told that I would be meeting my supervisor, instead the assistant supervisor showed up. She introduced herself as the Assistant Director at the center I was assigned to. I was very excited to meet her and …show more content…
After my training, I decided to talk to my supervisor and let her know about my concerns. She had just stepped out and the only person left was the Assistant Supervisor. To my understanding, she is the Assistant Supervisor and should be able to help me, but I was wrong. I told her my situation and her response was simply, “wait until you meet with the supervisor, she will be here tomorrow and should be able to talk to you more about the schedule, you don’t have to worry because you still have training to do before you can start on the rooms.” She seemed to be avoiding me again and was always on a rush to just walk away. Am I over reacting? Am I understanding what she is saying? what happened to the title of Assistant Supervisor? I kept it professional and responded with an “ok, I will talk to her tomorrow,
