Personal Narrative: Arizona Falls-Iowa Falls
Iowa Falls - Iowa Falls is a small town with about 5,000 people living in it and around it. This is a town where everybody knows everybody and word spreads like a wildfire. This place was where I was raised and where I grew up. Although I wouldn’t consider this home I do consider this my childhood. After all this small town did treat me pretty good and left some memories with me that will never be forgotten. This town is small enough that it wouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes to get from one part of town to the other. The community was very tight and everyone there had a good connection with everyone else around them. Nothing there went unnoticed and nothing was forgotten. one another. This town only left one impact on me and it was a sad one at that. This was town is where I meet and left my first set of friends. People there were lost for words when someone went off and left their community. After seeing this happen to multiple people as soon as it was my time to leave I knew it wasn’t gonna be easy because these people were the people I was around my entire life. These were the people that shaped my childhood and all the memories that I had started in my life. Iowa Falls is gone in my life but it will never be forgotten.
Iphone - There is no better phone company in the world than Apple. They make far superior phones and devices. My recommendation to anyone that is looking to buy a phone. Go with the iPhone, I promise you that it won’t let you down.
Instagram - To me this is greatest social media app that exist. Instagram is where people post pictures of themselves or of their lives, and other people like it. Literally this app is based on people posting pictures of their lives trying to brag about how great their lives are or aren’t. Then other people in the world like the picture because they also agree that their life is better or worse. I mean I don’t know how else to describe it. Girls post pictures trying to show off how cute they are or how they actually have a social life and go out and take slutty pictures and post about it. Guys then like those pictures because they like they girl, the girl is attractive, and very rarely the guy actually cares and likes the picture. Guys on the other hand try to post pictures about how cool them and their group of friends are, how attractive they think themselves are, and then those rare people that actually post about their life. Also you have the couple people that post about them and their significant other (this is me). If you don’t have instagram I would seriously recommend that you get it. Prove me wrong and I will pay you! If you do have an instagram give me a follow, @matthewrhodes88, my girlfriend is very pretty so if that helps to persuade you.
Iowa State Fair - Ever wonder how someone gets a job at the fair? I used to think that this people weren’t even real people at all. They were just like robots that were made to work at the fair. You usually have never seen most of the people that work there and or have never seen anyone that works their. Well two years ago I made the bold decision to go out and get my first job and it just so happens that was at the Iowa State Fair. The fair has two major attractions and that is why working there was very pleasing. The first main attraction was the fact that most of the people that went there were a sight to see themselves. These people were the main attraction because you see every type of person at the fair. My favorites are the real weirdos and the heavier people that have a riding scooter because they “can’t walk”. The second one is all the great tasting greasy food that you can eat. Unfortunately it’s so overpriced that buying it all to eat breaks the bank. Working at the fair on the other hand is an awesome experience.
You are able to make tons of money because of the long days you work, which can be very hard but are surely worth it at the end. My job at the fair involved working with tons of nice young people and involved the opportunity to people watch and deal with all the weirdos that went to the fair. My job was the infamous Barkesdale’s Cookies and the “greatest” chocolate chip cookies.
Joe - Let’s be honest everyone has that younger brother that is annoying because they are more immature than you. But there isn’t anything that I wouldn’t do for Joe, my younger brother, and there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for me. He understands me and I understand him and we both respect each other. Joe is the one that always drives me to become at not only sports but anything that he likes. We are both very competitive and we both never want to lose. So this willingness to become better them him drives us both to become better at everything that we do. Joe also is very supportive and willing to do anything. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is or what he is doing there isn’t anything I can’t ask him to do that he wouldn’t do and that is something that is very valuable and rare to find in
some. The best thing about Joe is that he has the advantage over me because he is bigger than me physically. He is taller than me which really isn’t fair. He much more aggressive and hard headed which is a good and bad thing to be. Last but not least he has had more experience because he has been around me through everything and has always learned everything that I have learned. Joe is the younger brother that I have come to love overtime. He is someone that has been making me a better person and he is someone that will continue to make me a better person. He has a bright future and knows more than I do about a lot more things. One day he will be better than me at whatever he does but I will probably never tell him that he is better than me.
J.C. - My first best friend was a kid named John Christopher who I meet when I moved to Florida. J.C. was a kid that was very easy going and made every day more interesting than the one before. The best memories I had was when me and J.C. would stay up all night during the summer playing a meaningless game called mine craft, and then the next day go out and do something different every single day.
Jim Halpert - I feel like if I was an office character I would most definitely be the Jim of the office. I would be the one to constantly prank Dwight and always make Michael feel like an idiot. Plus he marries Pam which is a definitely plus. The only downfall is that I am working in a paper company selling paper and barely making any money. But I don’t think I could pass up on the constant Dwight pranks.
Jared - Jared Allen Uhlman has been my best friend from Carlisle since freshman year. He was the first person to talk to me when I moved to Carlisle and ever since then our friendship has gotten stronger. He used to come spend the night at my house every single day, even if it was a school night. Me and him never spent time apart and sometimes that meant that we would argue like brothers. Jared is part genius and has about a 4.0 gpa. I know everything about him and I know that one day he will be paying for the both us to vacation to the moon. He wants to be a orthopedic surgeon and is gonna make 500 grand a year. Love Jared like a brother.
